Our Big Idea

How might we empower skiers to navigate Copper in a way that is best for them, with a digital ecosystem that manifests across viewports and thoughtfully placed touch points?

This is “You at Copper” - our digital solution to make the resort experience at Copper easy and enjoyable. From the mobile app experience that supports pre-trip planning and logistics to on-mountain and resort kiosks for streamlined way finding and customer service, You at Copper empowers visitors to spend more time creating their own, unique experience and less time bogged down with the details.

The Experience

Step 1: Booking Your Stay

First, you will log onto Copper Mountain and book your trip.

Step 2: Email Prompt

After booking your stay at Copper online, you will then receive an email announcing the brand new “You at Copper” app that is specifically designed to help easily and efficiently answer your pre-trip plannings anxiety ridden questions. Next, you will receive a confirmation email prompting you to download the app

Step 3: Download App

Step 4: Check Traffic Reports, Weather Conditions, Ski School Times, Parking and More On Your Way Up!

Once reassured there will still be powder up there despite the sun, you can also check traffic reports, parking availability, and confirm the kids’ (if you have any) ski school times. Taking care of some of these logistical “brass tacks” of the ski experience ahead of time enables you to have a relaxing ride and less anxiety upon arrival. You will already know what to expect and can begin to make a game plan for your time at the resort.

Step 5: Arrival At Copper

Now you have arrived at beautiful Copper Mountain and you are pleased to find out you beat some of the lines at the gear rental area, because you have already taken care of waivers ahead of time. Now you just need to print them out at the brand new You at Copper kiosks.

Step 6: Kiosk Logistics On The Mountain

Screen Shot 2019-10-03 at 12.18.32 AM.png

At the You at Copper kiosk, select your specific route, and a printable map will show them exactly how to get there. The kiosk also displays all restaurants in the area, and the fastest route to get there, including GF and vegan options. Also, you may check weather conditions and traffic reports alongside the app.

The purpose of the kiosks on the mountain is to help guests feel assured they have assistance with little usage of their phone. This is because it is difficult for skiers and snowboarders to take off their gloves on the mountain to check an app, and sometimes guests lose their phones in the snow. This is based on feedback and research conducted by our team and POWDR Cooperation.

Step 7: Push Notifications

The weather at Copper can be crazy, so it’s important to get notified when there will be a snow storm to beat the traffic or stay for another night. You at Copper will send a push notification to notify you in advance, and prepare accordingly.

Step 8: Marketing Email & Follow Up

As always, end your amazing experience with a followup email asking about your experience and prompting you to upgrade to a season pass for a discounted price at a limited time only.
